Presented by the Tanenbaum Lecture Series and the International Issues Discussion Series. Jamel Shabazz is a documentary photographer whose socially-conscious practice was shaped by images of the American Civil Rights Movement and the Vietnam War. For over forty years, both in the United States and abroad, Shabazz has recorded a wide range of topics, from the birth of Hip-Hop to the effects of the crack epidemic, war veterans, and everyday life.
