The Diversity@Work 2014 Conference "Valuing Diversity: Challenges, Opportunities and Next Steps" was hosted by Skills for Change in partnership with Diversity Institute and The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University. The one day conference provided business people, Human Resources professionals and non-profit organizations the opportunity to re-examine the business case for diversity to explore its immense potential. Dr. Wendy Cukier was invited to participate in the panel discussion "Employer Engagement: The Business Case for Diversity" along with Matt Petersen, Senior Director of Diversity and Inclusion at CIBC. The experience of their combination resulted in an extremely interesting discussion, with Dr. Cukier providing the theoretical and research background, while Mr. Petersen approached the issue from the employers' point of view. The Honorable Michael Coteau, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, was on hand to deliver the keynote address to the engaged attendees, who were also exposed to a wide array of case studies, panel discussion, and prominent speakers all focused on the important topic of Diversity@Work. http://www.ryerson.ca/diversity/news/2014-02-20.html
