Since 2012, the topic of mental health has gained more visibility in higher education. In 2013, the Canadian Association of College and University Student Services and CAMH jointly published Post-Secondary Student Mental Health: Guide to a systemic approach. The guide emphasizes the importance of supportive campus climates and student engagement to positively impact both academic performance and mental health. Universities, including Ryerson, have been working towards reducing mental health stigma and promoting a healthy environment for students and employees. This session will examine how far we have come, and how much further we need to go.
